A Senior at Last

My Graduation... BIT from KMC, is memorable for a number of reasons. The college canteen, DSchool canteen, Choley Bhaturey, Mamta mam (ahem ahem), KNags and the famous BIT stairs. It also had the dharna, the dharna grounds, the long walks, the last seat of 816, Alpna, Astha and E.

But the four years were notable for one other thing... I had no juniors. No juniors did I say? Yes, none!! what with the course being reengineered and restructured and renamed and scrapped after the year I entered. For 3 full years of my life at KMC, I had 3/2/1 batches of seniors looking after me, asking me to run odds and errands, giving parties on one pretext or the other, and in general being there to make life miserable (er, livable I meant… Hope u guys are not reading this). But as it turned out, I had no one to do the same to. That meant no freshers party that we hosted, no farewell that we got, no gyaan that we passed on and no one who inherited the BIT stairs and other assorted collectibles.

Coming to the latest, I have just turned a year old at this place that we call Planet-I. Translated into commonspeak, I am now into the second year of the Post Graduate Program at IIM Indore and since the arrival of the juniors, mine’s been a whole new life. Juniors are all around, collecting assorted info about random stuff here and perennially asking for more. You don’t even realize that u know so much, but once someone asks u, u realize that there is so much that u have absorbed from the I-life. I don’t wanna bore u too much with the details, but then this is my blog and I’ll write as much as I want. From operating the washing machines to which topic to present in MOC, from grades to placements, from newspaper walla to discounts at mashaal… Actually, it is pretty normal for everyone else, coz they’v been at some point or the other played seniors to a gang of - dewy eyed, with hopes in their hearts and dreams in their hearts - juniors. And I haven’t.

KMC did teach me a lot of things… Travelling in Delhi buses... not getting flustered seeing a mile long queue at Alpna… Whiling away a perfectly fine day doing nothing at all… talking on the phone for hours on end… but this one thing got left out. But now I m gonna make sure I learn this in double quick time.

Gotta end this post with - We came; we saw; we told it all.

My Mantra for this term - Walk, Talk, Read, Sleep and Think…
